The Fractal Characteristics of Soft Soil under Cyclic Loading Based on SEM

Cyclic loading always results in great damage to the pore structure and fractal characteristics of soft soil. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) can help collect data describe microstructure This paper conducted a series SEM tests interpret effect consolidation confining pressure, circulating dynamic stress ratios overconsolidation ratio on soil’s micro-pore characteristics. The demonstrate that dimension well represent complex soil; larger greater cyclic ratio, smaller number soil samples. Finally, an empirical fitting formula for cumulative strain considering parameters is established through fitting.
